Crumpled Starbucks paper cup

I painted this Crumpled Starbucks paper cup for a series of paintings that I am making of wrappers, packages, containers of commonly used products or fashion accessories. All items related to popular brands that are mass-produced and identical to each other. Only the use for which they are produced makes them unique.
The crumpled paper cup is a testament to the fleeting moments we experience in our daily lives. It represents that quick morning coffee run or the energizing pick-me-up during a busy day. Yet, in its very imperfections and creases, it exudes a certain charm and authenticity.
I’ve sought to capture the texture and contours of the crumpled cup, showcasing the resilience and character it acquires after serving its purpose. The play of light and shadows brings the artwork to life, emphasizing the transient beauty found in the simplest of objects.
This painting serves as a visual reminder of the environmental impact of our consumption habits. I hope it prompts us to reflect on our choices and encourages a shift towards more sustainable alternatives.
